My brother. My best friend. My best experiences in my life were with Sully. A guy that would do anything for anyone. Even though Pat was my little bro, I always looked up to Pat for his unconditional generosity and amazing soul. Your energy will infinitely be felt by me and everyone who loved you. You were the best guy I ever knew. I love you and I miss you. I look forward to seeing you again. God bless you Patrick Ian Sullivan

After leaving NY and especially after parting ways with someone who was once a friend of us both, I wondered often about what happened to you more than I wondered about pretty much anyone else from that time in my life. That's because the last time I saw you in 2017, you were in a pretty dark place. I always hoped that things would turn out okay for you, so I looked for you on social media, not to interact -- just to see if you were doing okay. I looked for you in the news too because I was worried this day might come. I hate that this ended up being exactly where I found you, and I wish circumstances could've allowed me to be a better friend to you in the time I knew you. I knew you needed it. You opened up and shared a lot more with me than I think even you expected, and I appreciated it. But I didn't want to send anyone the wrong message or pour salt in any wounds, so I mostly kept my distance. I still am unsure if that was the right thing to do. According to this obituary, you passed on my great-grandmother's birthday, and her death was the first I ever experienced. I don't know if that means anything at all, but you were fascinated by the cosmos as much as I am and it seems cosmic to me. I hope you found whatever you were searching for from this life, Sully. Maybe I'll see you on our next visit.

I met Pat when my good neighbor brought Pat over to paint our shutters . Pat offered a lower price than what I offered to pay and he did a great job . I always looked for him to say hello when he was working at my neighbors due to his friendly ways. Thanks to my neighbor for being able to meet and know Pat.

I had the good fortune to have met Pat. Such a kind and considerate person. Hard worker, too. I had no idea that I knew his Mom, Melanee. We were friends in school and I was quite fond of her. My little brother. I’ll never forget that day we met. You and Devin with the boombox blasting Backstreet Boys. We had the absolute best of times together. Whether it was countless sleepovers, swimming in your pool (thanks, Brendan), going to the movies, walking to Stewart’s to buy too much candy and junk food, Montauk vacations, hours of hooping or biking Vassar’s campus, we always enjoyed being around each other. I remember waking up every morning during the summer and calling your house to plan out our days. I’m so happy that you were such a big part of some of the most influential years of my life. I’m proud of who you became and I was always proud of how you were always looking to improve yourself in any way you wanted. Thank you for the memories, the “Sullyisms,” the heart to hearts and for letting me be your best friend and big brother all those years. You are loved and you are missed.
