Obituary of David A. Philipbar

David A. Philipbar, 75, of Salt Point, NY passed away on July 26, 2022. He was born on September 7, 1946 in Poughkeepsie, New York to the late John and the late Frances (Cromwell) Philipbar.

David was a local resident all of his life. David graduated from Arlington High School and attended Dutchess Community College.

David served his Country in the United States Navy. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Millbrook.

On April 1, 1967 at St. Patrick Church in Southold, Long Island, David married Rita A. Delaney.

Davd worked in sales for Alfa Laval, before retiring to take care of Rita as her illness progressed.  Rita predeceased him on September 7. 2020.

David’s passion was his family, and he thoroughly enjoyed time with his children and grandchildren.. David loved watching his grandchildren at their various events,  and he always had a supply of Klondike Bars, ice cream,  and a draw full of candy for them.

Survivors include son and daughter in-law David Patrick and Elizabeth Philipbar of Poughkeepsie New York, son and daughter in-law Justin A. and Kerri Philipbar of Brunswick Georgia, son and daughter in-law John F. II and Jill Philipbar of Glenham New York, brother Michael J. Philipbar of Salt Point New York and his seven grandchildren Emma F., Brooke A, Theodore P., Zachary V., John F. III,  Aidan G., and Brady M.

Friends may call on Sunday, July 31, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held August 1, 2022 at 10:00 AM from St Joseph's Church, 15 North Ave, Millbrook, NY.
Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Millbrook, NY.

The family asks that memorial donations be made in David's name to the Dutchess County ASPCA Route 9G Hyde Park, New York 12538.
