Obituary of Giuseppa Pace

Giuseppa Pace at age 80, a devoted wife, loving mother, proud “nonna” of Poughkeepsie, New York, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at home on Wednesday, October 5, 2022.

Giuseppa was born in Saint Anna, Sicily on December 30, 1941, a faithful and devoted catholic whom prayed the rosary daily. She was the daughter of the late Matteo and the late Agata Aquilina.

On September 7, 1964, in Sicily, Giuseppa, married the love of her life, Luciano Pace, he predeceased her on March 29, 2003.

Giuseppa was a retired seamstress working at the Campanella Knitting Factory in Queens, New York walking 40 blocks daily.

Giuseppa was a local resident for over 30 years and was a member of St. Martin de Porres Church.

Giuseppa is survived by her children Salvatore Pace of Fort Lauderdale Florida, Matteo L. and Silvana Pace of Poughkeepsie, New York, Pino A. Pace and his fiancé Shannon of Poughkeepsie, New York, her grandchildren Italia Pace, Luciano Pace, step granddaughter Stefania and her husband Maxwell Wood, great grandchildren Camden and Aria Wood, sisters Enza Aquilina in Caruana, Pina Aquilina in Graci and brother Enzo Aquilina.

Giuseppa was predeceased by her parents, husband, and sister Angela Aquilina in Mule.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, October 9, 2022, from 2pm to 6pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am October 10, 2022, at St. Martin de Porres Church Poughkeepsie, New York. Burial will follow at The Cedar Hill Cemetery, Newburgh, New York.
