Obituary of William Zeller
On October 9, 2022, Bill Zeller left this world after a courageous battle with bone cancer surrounded by family and friends. He was pre-deceased by his wife of over 60 years - Betty Ann.
Bill is survived by three daughters; Cindy, Nancy (Bruno) and Wendy (Kevin); six grandchildren; Jason (Cait), Justin (Ashley), Kristen (Dave), Erika (Chris), Erin (Brett) and Ian; eight beautiful great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and dear friends.
Bill loved life and lived it on his own terms. He loved to laugh and saw the silver lining in any situation. Bill loved spending time outdoors. He was an avid gardener and was known for his beautiful flowers. He was also known for decorating his house for each and every holiday. As a child, Bill spent much of his time with his grandparents in Sharon, CT. He learned his carpentry craft from his grandfather. Bill became an expert craftsman and enjoyed his own carpentry business for over 50 years. His iconic "Mr. Bill" van with the Sawman plates could be seen throughout the Poughkeepsie area. Bill's mischievous spirit allowed him to begin skiing at the age of 50 and continued flipping off diving boards into his early eighties. He also enjoyed being a hot air balloon pilot. He flew his balloon, The Phoenix, at the Lake George Balloon Festival for many years. Nothing made Bill smile more than a good family dinner. No one was ever turned away from his table where laughter was a constant. To know Bill was to love him. He was ready to move on from his life journey to rejoin the love of his life - Betty Ann in spirit. Bill truly was a lucky man.
Bill and his family appreciate the loving care provided to him by hospice and his other health care nurses and aides. Remembrance donations can be made to Hudson Valley Hospice, www.hvhospice.org
