Obituary of Nettie Elizabeth Farrier

Nettie Elizabeth Farrier, 85, of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away peacefully on December 15, 2022. She was born on March 31, 1937 in Poughkeepsie, New York to the late Harold and the late Irene (Beesmer) VanLeuven. She was predeceased by her first husband Clifford Farrier and her second husband Robert Farrier.

Nettie was a life-long local resident and a graduate of Arlington High School.

Nettie was a member of Arlington Reformed Church and the Arlington Engine Company #1 Ladies Auxiliary.

Nettie in her free time enjoyed playing bingo and traveling to the many area casinos.

Nettie is survived by her children Skip Clifford (Alissa) Farrier of Queensbury, NY., Cindy (Glenn) Daley of Salt Point, NY., Jane (Mark) Urbin of Poughkeepsie, NY., Kelly (Ed) Glennon of Auburn, Massachusetts, Carrie (Greg) Albertson of Poughkeepsie, NY., Robert (Clarissa) Farrier of Highland Falls, NY., stepdaughter Belinda Lindy (Rick) Weaver of Pleasant Valley, NY., many grandchildren and great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, sisters Dorothy Witherwax, Mildred Bendix.

Nettie was predeceased by a son Van Farrier, sisters Anna Graham, Geraldine Roth, Lorretta Jenkins and a brother Harold VanLeuven Jr.

There will be graveside services at Union Cemetery 1076 Violet Avenue Hyde Park, New York on Friday December 23, 2022 at 11 am.  Following the graveside service, A Celebration of Life will be held at the Elks Club BPOE 275 at 29 Overocker Road Poughkeepsie, New York beginning at 12 pm.
