Obituary of Robert B. Hanke

Robert B. Hanke, 86, of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on February 1, 2023. He was born on November 30, 1936, in Poughkeepsie, New York to the late Robert Ernest and Elizabeth (Barrtlet) Hanke.

Robert was a local resident all his life.

He was a retired Principal Engineer Tech for NYSDOT Poughkeepsie NY.

He was the husband of Anne M. Kowalski, she predeceased him on November 21, 2016.

Robert was a long-time member of St. Stanislaus Church in Pleasant Valley. Robert was a member of the Knight of Columbus Council 7875, and he was the Past Grand Knight of the Council. Robert was also a Knights of Columbus 4^th Degree member and was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 1302.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law Robert Joseph and Linda Hanke of Homestead Florida, grandson Robert Joseph Hanke Jr. of Port St. Lucie Florida, and his great-granddaughter Rinna Hanke, brother Stanley Bartholf of Virginia and niece Jane Flynn of Poughkeepsie.

Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, from 4pm to 8pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave Poughkeepsie, New York 12603.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at St. Stanislaus Church Pleasant Valley, New York, with Burial to follow at  Calvary Cemetery in Poughkeepsie, New York.
