Obituary of Lisa Grabowicz

LISA MARIA GRABOWICZ, 67, of Poughkeepsie, NY, passed away unexpectedly on February 12, 2023 at MHRH.

She was born on January 7, 1956, to Nicholas (predeceased) and Maryellen Danchak in Peekskill, NY.

Lisa devoted her career to nursing and to selflessly caring for her family. She was a Registered Nurse for 47 years and a Critical Care Registered Nurse for 38 years. Over her career, she worked in both the CCU and ICU of St. Francis Hospital, Vassar Brothers Medical Center, and Urgent Care at CareMount Medical. She was highly respected by her colleagues, who would attest to her nursing expertise, compassion, wit, sense of humor, and her infectious laugh.

Lisa loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed watching movies, the beach, going to baseball games, and was an avid reader. She adored and cared for animals, especially her beloved grand-bulldog, Chubbs.

Lisa will forever be in our hearts and deeply missed by her husband of 45 years, Richard, her children: Christopher, Natalie, Jennifer, Richard;  grandson, Nicholas;  brother, Mark;  sister-in law’s Justana (Leigh) and Stacia;  and mother, Maryellen.  And as well by numerous cousins, friends, and colleagues.
