Dad, Jason and I light this candle to represent how lucky we are to have you as our Compadre and Godfather, and because you really like candles. We are lucky because you were there for us through all our major life moments with your encouraging smile. When we were young you would pick us up to go do something or show up when we needed you and those memories made our childhood so much better. You stepped in as a dad when you didn't have to because you loved us. Jason and I are so very grateful for that. Dad is very grateful. Mom and Dad gave us the greatest gift when they chose you to be our Godfather. You did the job perfectly and we know you will continue to do the job from heaven. Thank you from our Dad, Fernando, for the memories you gave him, especially this last one with the helicopter. You pushed him out of his comfort like only you can do and to give him such an amazing experience at his age was a great gift from you. May you find your way to hug our Mom Sylvia for us, who loved you so very much. May you find your way to the arms of your loving wife Hermina, who loved you so fiercely that it brought you back to health and gave us a little more time with you, though too brief. We are all shocked by your passing with so much life left to live and that, we don't think, will ever go away. We needed more time; however, your amazing spirit with live on in the hearts of your children and grandchildren, your family and friends whose lives you enriched. Your perseverance and love are an inspiration. Thank you from Jason who saw you as a Dad. Thank you from Fernando who saw you as a life-long great friend and Compadre. And I thank you for always being there for me.. and for being a great dominos partner. I know you walk with me still, though surely a few steps ahead of me; but I couldn't ask for a better guide Godpoppa.. Hermina and Godfather be at beautiful peace together. We love you always.
