Obituary of Dimo Tetteris

Dimo Tetteris, 86, of the Town of Poughkeepsie, NY, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at the Grand River Valley Nursing Home in Poughkeepsie, NY. Dimo was born on September 1, 1936 in Chios, Greece to the late Zane and Julia Kokinakis Tetteris. He married Cleo Tsovkatou in Greece in November, 1963. She predeceased him on September 26, 2017.

A local resident since 1971, Dimo previously lived in Greece and was in the Greek Army.

He was the owner of Texas Lunch, the best hot dog luncheonette in the city of Poughkeepsie for 16 years.  He also was a member of the Kimisis Greek Orthodox Church in Poughkeepsie, NY. 

Survivors include a daughter Julia Takos of Poughkeepsie, NY, his daughter Joanne Tetteris, son-in-law George Takos, as well as his grandchildren; Aphrodite, Yanni and Demos.

Calling hours will take place on Monday, April 17, 2023 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc. 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. Funeral Services will be the next day on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at 10:00am at the Kimisis Greek Orthodox Church, 140 South Grand Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.
