Obituary of Frances Mullaly

Francis J Mullaly (Fran), affectionately known as Grandma Fran, was born on March 16, 1932, in
Patterson NY; raised on the Flood Dairy Farm. She was the youngest of twelve and the last surviving
child to James and Lillian Flood (McMahon). Fran passed peacefully at home on May 15 th , 2023, with her
loving family by her side.
Fran was married to John J Mullaly at St. Mary’s Church in Poughkeepsie on September 29, 1956.
Together they raised five children. John J Mullaly predeceased Fran on 7/23/2007.
Fran is survived by her children; Maureen Murphy of Poughkeepsie (Freeman Marshall); Colleen Mullaly
(Jeff Fields), of Pittsburgh, PA; John S Mullaly (Lisa Atonito) of Lindenhurst NY; Michael Mullaly (Ray
Vincoli) of Stamford, CT; Charles Mullaly (Debbie Mullaly) of Stormville, NY, grandchildren; JJ and
Justine Mullaly, Kate Fields, Corey, Evan and Charly Mullaly, Logan and Madison Marshall, as well as
several Nieces and Nephews.
Fran attended Krissler Business Institute, was a secretary at IBM, and played on the IBM women’s
basketball team before becoming a wife and mother. After raising her children, she worked at the Town
of Poughkeepsie Court for Justice Paul Sullivan until her retirement in 2003.
Fran was an excellent cook, gardener, supervisor, and general contractor. She cherished her children
and grandchildren; was always there to lend a helping hand and prepare their favorite foods, especially
her signature orange cake.
The family would like to thank her care team over the past few years especially Kelly, Annie, Michelle,
Yolanda, Sarah, Lydia, as well as the wonderful staff at Lutheran Care Center and Hudson Valley Hospice.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations can be made to Hudson
Valley Hospice, 374 Violet Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. Arrangments have been made under the supervision of the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home
