Obituary of Lorraine Wheaton

Lorraine Wheaton a long time resident of Hyde Park NY passed away at the age of 91 on June 26, 2023. Lorraine was born in Brooklyn NY, to Edward and Helen Graziano. Lorriane married her loving Robert Wheaton in 1951 in Poughkeepsie NY. 

Lorraine in her early years worked various secretarial jobs & then decided to go to school to get a beautician license to open her own beauty salon.

Her father-in-law & husband Robert built an addition on the side of her home to house her beauty salon business which she operated for many years.

While working Lorraine also took college courses in psychology along with doing some painting too being interests she had outside of work.

Lorraine also liked to socialize with friends & family at the kitchen table with coffee along with going to auctions in the evening on the weekend.

Years later she closed the Beauty Salon to help with a few family businesses in Hyde Park 1st being an antique shop & the 2nd being a bedding store (Discount Bedding) taking her into retirement yrs.

Lorraine is survived by her grandson James Wheaton,her 2 sons Wayne & Scott Wheaton,her daughter in-laws Debbie & Camille Wheaton along with her beloved cousins she grew up with Gary Whitman & Vivian Wadlin.

Memorial gifts may be given to the local Cancer Society.
