Ken and I worked together at Public Works in Poughkeepsie. It was a time of great change and many hurdles not the least of which was the temporary (8 years) relocation of the Police, Fire and city hall while the building was rebuilt. I could always rely on Ken to help in any way he could throughout this constantly challenging time. I grew to respect and appreciate his sense of duty and fair play. It’s a shock to know he won’t be helping the kids with fishing and all his other fine endeavors. He will be missed by many. My wife Susan who was in the Planning Department also worked with Ken and we both send our deepest sympathy to his family. Rob and Susan Sanderson

I was so sorry to see that Ken passed away, I got know him through my work as fisheries biologist with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. He was a wonderful person who contributed so much to making fishing available to the public. I felt so fortunate to have the opportunity to work with him.

When I was the Poughkeepsie City Chamberlain, 1996-2000, I worked with Ken Rose. He was a man of honor, and when he gave his word, it was as good as gold. So pleasant to work with! I am sad to read of his passing. My sympathies and condolences are with the Rose family at this time.
