I remember Hal and his devoted efforts caring for countless cats at the riverfront. In those days I too cared for colonies and did TNR for homeless cats... I spoke with Hal on numerous occasions exchanging stories. In those days, very few rescue groups existed. There were only individuals who worried about the welfare of the cats. Thankfully today more people are aware of the plight of felines in need. My sympathy to the family and friends of this selfless man. May he rest in peace knowing he made a difference. Sally

So incredibly sorry and sad to hear of Hal’s passing. My boyfriend and I had volunteered during COVID to deliver meals and Hal was part of our route. He was so sweet and we would always end up chatting. When the time came for us to move back to Brooklyn - Hal and I exchanged emails. We kept in touch via email and greeting cards throughout the years- exchanging stories about the cat colonies and my dog fosters/rescue work. He was a wonderful man and I feel lucky that our paths crossed. My sincere condolences to his family ♥️ Grace Coleman

Sincere condolences to the entire Veeder Family. I was fortunate enough to meet Harold at the Grotto. We spent many years having a good time and helping to move the Grotto forward. I will always be grateful for his mentorship. Rest Easy my Friend!!!
