Liz my very deepest condolences to you and the family on Rich's passing. It has taken me some time to process this very sad news. I know that he is pain free, and finally at peace, but it does not change the fact that I too will miss him.
Rich and I met each other when we were very young men and our time together was only for a short period of time. However, we formed a great friendship that has lasted a lifetime during that short time together.
Rich was a great friend to me, and we bantered a lot during our Navy years. I have enjoyed those memories throughout my life. I am proud to have called Rich my friend, my buddy and my mentor as I learned much from Rich during our short time together. I will miss him very much.
I am hopeful that you and the family receive the peace you so very much deserve on his passing, for I am confident that you, like myself feel a very great void in our hearts for this young man, husband, father and grandfather now that he has left us in this world.
I look forward to meeting Rich again in the future where we can all be at peace.

The last time I saw Rich was when he hollered hello to me from the Bear Mt. Bridge. We went fishing hiking a mile through the back woods to a senators private pond. He had only city loafers on and they were destroyed . I never knew he was a vet like myself until the last few days or had cancer. I think Liz must have thought that I knew a lot of things. I said say hello to Rich at my vet to vet ribbon cutting ... she replied "I'll tell him." I was wondering what she was doing there. Again, as I look at it now , I think that some people assume I was aware.
I always liked the kid from the Bronx and today I am sad.

Rich used to play hookie and come to my house and go fishing all day. I also worked many underage drinking operations with him in Putnam County. RIP Richie.
