Obituary of Tracy L. Davis
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tracy Cefarelli Davis on September 25,
2023 at the age of 60. She left us with so many cherished memories that will forever be held in
our hearts.
Imagine the sweetest smile accompanied by the most engaging laugh, then you would get a
glimpse into the essence of Tracy. Splashing in the pool, toes in the sand at the beach, family
vacations, and glamorizing black blouses were a few of her favorite things. Tracy’s most prized
treasure was her family. The moment her son, Cody, was born, her role as mom would be her
finest, loving him to her core. Her sister, Debbie, was her life-long second half in everything.
Tracy relished being the eldest cousin in the Bruzgul family, especially hosting “Cousin’s
Christmas” to gather the ever-growing generations. Her best friend, Tracy Grittlow, not only
shared a name but also years of fun, especially their annual Christmas cookie-baking extravaganza.
Her husband, Scot, was a loving and caring partner, especially nurturing through her illness.
Born on January 26, 1963, in Poughkeepsie, NY, Tracy was a beloved member of our family,
known for our big Sunday gatherings each week. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in
1981 where she played the flute in the marching band. She embarked on a distinguished 25-
year career with Home Depot as a hard-working and dedicated member of the team. On June
31, 1999, she married the love of her life, Scot Davis, and welcomed their son, Cody, on
September 26, 2002. Tracy also adored her newest family addition, her dog, Maya, who kept
her company and entertained this past year.
Tracy’s life was a testament to her boundless love and dedication to all her family and friends,
touching everyone’s life with compassion and down-to-earth approachability. She will be
forever remembered for her amazing sense of humor that immediately connected to anyone
who met her.
Tracy leaves behind her husband Scot, their son Cody, her mother Barbara Cefarelli, sister
Debbie Cefarelli-Beers, and PJ Moloney. Her nieces, Jessica and Kelsey Beers, were especially
dear to her heart. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Cefarelli. Tracy also leaves
behind a large and loving family of cousins who adored her immensely.
Calling hours will be on Friday, September 29, 2023, from 4-8 p.m. at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral
Home, 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY. The funeral service will take place on Saturday,
September 30, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Doyle Funeral Home, followed by entombment at St. Peter’s
Cemetery, 171 Salt Point Turnpike, Poughkeepsie, NY.
Tracy’s spirit of love, humor, and overall kindness will forever live in our hearts.
