Obituary of Flora L. Rinaldi

Flora L. Rinaldi, 91, of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on September 29, 2023. She was born on June 4, 1932, in Athens, Greece to the late Giorgious I. Sofikitis and the late Andreani S. Adamopoulos.

After meeting and marrying Vincent A. Rinaldi, she emigrated to the United States in 1952.

She was employed by Grand Union in Highland and the Hyde Park Central School District at Roosevelt High School, retiring in 2002.

Flora was a past choir member of Kimisis Greek Orthodox Church in Poughkeepsie. She loved to cook, play the organ, and enjoyed singing. One of her proudest moments was becoming a naturalized US citizen.

She was the wife of the late Vincent A. Rinaldi, who predeceased her on December 31, 1999.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Carmine and Barbara Rinaldi of Poughkeepsie, New York, and granddaughter Alyssa Rinaldi of San Diego, California.

Flora was also predeceased by her two brothers John Sofikitis and Jimmy Adamopoulos, and her sister Mary Nudds.

Friends may call on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. Funeral Services will follow at 1pm.

Interment will take place in St. Peters Cemetery, Poughkeepsie, NY.
