Obituary of Ming Chu Chan

Ming Chu Chan, 90, of Hyde Park, NY passed away peacefully on October 10, 2023.  She was born on June 27, 1933, in Canton, China to Ng See Keung and Chan Jic Wan.  In 1968 she immigrated from Hong Kong to NY with her young family.  For over 10 years she owned Hong Sing Restaurant in Hyde Park, NY.  Post-retirement in 1990, she spent many years living between NY and California, spending time with her children and grandchildren on both coasts. She embraced life with unmatched loving kindness, positivity, and the brightest smile. She loved sewing, gardening, mahjong, and exploring new experiences that made life fun.  

She was the wife of Siu Fong Chan. He predeceased her on August 14, 1982.

Survivors include son Tommy Hoy Moon and his wife Sonia Chan of Hyde Park New York, daughter Jean Chan and her husband Michael Lehman of Reno Nevada, Carl Chu son in-law Poughkeepsie, grandchildren Vinson Chin, Samantha Chu, Marina Chu, Shannon Fung, Katelyn and Bradford Lehman.  Ming Chu was predeceased by her daughter Mei Ling Chan.

Friends may call on Friday, October 20, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY.

Interment will take place in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, Poughkeepsie, NY.
