Obituary of Diana Thompson
Diana Thompson affectionately known as Lady Di passed away peacefully at her home on October 31,2023 at the age of 66. After a courageous battle with cancer and surrounded by love.
Diana (Robinson) Thompson was born in Brooklyn NY on January 9, 1957, to parents Robert and Ruby Robinson. The youngest of 4 siblings, she grew up in Springfield Gardens Queens and later moved to Poughkeepsie NY. Diana continued her career in hairdressing. She was self-employed and opened her business Beauty in Black and White, serving up the latest trends. She also obtained an associate degree from Dutchess Community College and received a certificate for chemical dependency counselor. She had a big heart and her need to give back didn’t stop at counselling, she also became a foster parent. Her infectious smile, comedic talents, and loving nature affected all she encountered. She loved to uplift people and saw the beauty and potential in everything. She loved to create memories. Her interests included cooking, gardening, many exotic plants, music, singing, spoiling grandchildren. She was a master craftsman at fixing things with duct tape. Most of all she loved being with her family, and friends she called family.
Diana was predeceased by her parents Robert and Ruby Robinson and nephew Aldeimian Woolcock Jr.
She is survived by her children Beverlee Woolcock (Troy Davis), Arthur Robinson (Theresa), four grandchildren Elias and Taylor Davis, Thomas and Christine Robinson. Siblings Guy Robinson (LaVerne) Gail Robinson, Gregory Robinson (Jacqueline) Nieces April and Lauren Nephew Allen. Aunt Irma Moore Daughter in love Cherrell Jackson, Son in love Rapheal Shepherd. Special friends Carolyn Scott and Cheryl Beckles and a host of cousins and friends.
There will be a private ceremony with just immediate family. The family wishes to express their deep appreciation and sincere thanks for all acts of kindness shown to them in their time of sorrow.
