Obituary of Patricia Nilsen

Patricia A. Nilsen Obituary Patti Ann Nilsen, known to her loved ones as Patti, passed away on November 6, 2023, in Poughkeepsie, New York, at the age of 69. Born on March 6, 1954, in Highland Mills, New York, Patti was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. Patti was the most unselfish and genuine soul. She had a heart of gold and would do anything to help anyone that crossed her path. Her infectious sense of humor brought joy to those around her, and her devotion to her friends and family was unwavering. Patti's vibrant personality and hopeful spirit made her a cherished presence in the lives of those who knew her. Patti is survived by her son, Gregory A. Nilsen Jr, of Wappingers Falls, New York, her daughter, Laura Hernandez of Ventura, California, and her granddaughter, Tessa Nilsen of Wappingers Falls. She was preceded in death by her mother, Katherine Ellen Kelly McInerney, her father, Warren Joseph McInerney, her father-in-law, Harry Nilsen, her mother-in-law, Marie Nilsen, and her son, Anthony (Tony) Patrick Nilsen. Patti attended Monroe Woodbury High School. She graduated Mount Saint Mary College as an LPN and went on to work at the Franciscan Friars of Atonement at Graymoor in Garrison, NY. Her dedication to her work and caring nature made a lasting impact on the lives of others. In her free time, Patti loved to spend time with her family, take scenic drives, sit by the river, and watch sunrises and sunsets. Patti loved watching butterflies, cardinals, baby foxes and bunnies. She found relaxation in the hot tub and enjoyed the peacefulness of the pool. She loved to sing, her voice was angelic. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date to honor Patti's memory. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Lymphoma Society in Patti's name. Patti will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her selflessness, humor, and love will forever be remembered and cherished.
