Obituary of Marjory Lynn Spoerri

Marjory Lynn Spoerri, 86, passed away on November 11, 2023, in Stanfordville, NY. 

Marjory Spoerri was born in Warroad, MI to Olive and Frank Baucom on July 19, 1937. Marjory went to Bloomington High School and went on to study Art History at the University of Minnesota. Marjory moved to NY and worked as a secretary for the Medieval Dept and the Cloisters at the Metropolitan Museum for 6 years. Marjory married John Spoerri and moved to Stanfordville. Marjory’s favorite jobs included Dover Publications and the Institute of Ecosystem Studies in Millbrook NY. 

Marjory developed an interest in the Antarctic, collected books and attended conferences by the Antarctician Society. Marjory was interested in gems and jewelry making and was a member of the Mid-Hudson Gem and Mineral Society. 

Marjory Spoerri is survived by her siblings Frank Baucom, Beth Benisch, Frances Olsen, her children Paul and Elizabeth Spoerri, and stepchildren Stefan and Johanna Spoerri.   

A burial service will be held at Stanford Cemetery at 5944 NY-82 on Monday November 20, 2023, at noon.
