Obituary of Raymond J. Wilk Sr.

Raymond J. Wilk Sr., 89, of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on December 15, 2023, at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital. He was born on May 21, 1934, in Poughkeepsie, New York to the late Ignatius and the late Anna (Banach) Wilk.

Ray was a resident all his life and a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School.

He was a Lithographer for Western Publishing.

He was a US Army Veteran. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Church and the Polish Club. Ray loved to share golfing, fishing, and hiking with his loving wife and was an avid Yankees fan.

He was the husband of the late Edith Elizabeth Taylor. They were married at St. Mary’s Church in Poughkeepsie, NY on September 20, 1959.

Survivors include son Raymond Jr. and Angela Wilk. Highland New York, daughter and son-in-law Elizabeth Croshier and Steve Saler  Pleasant Valley New York, daughter and son-in-law Maureen Wilk and Kevin Park  Athens New York, son, and daughter-in-law William and Eileen Wilk Pleasant Valley New York, son and daughter-in-law Sean Wilk and Cindy Whispell  Hyde Park New York, daughter and son-in-law Patricia and William VanKleeck Poughkeepsie New York, grandchildren Michael, Raiana, Alecia, Nicola, Newton, Natasha, Craig Joseph, Sean Jr., Deja, Ashlynn, Raymond, Kayleigh, Vanessa, Victoria, and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held December 22, 2023, at 10:00 AM from St. Peter's Cemetery, Salt Point Turnpike, Poughkeepsie, NY. Interment will follow.

Funeral services are being handled by the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.
