Obituary of Cheryl Scanlan

Cheryl Scanlan, age 71, passed away on December 28, 2023, at the Hudson Valley Hospice House in Hyde Park, New York. She was born on June 30, 1952, in Goshen, NY, to Walter and Virginia Romer. Cheryl is survived by her mother Virginia Nelson of Washingtonville, NY, her daughter Shannon Considine and son-in-law Steven Considine of Poughkeepsie, NY, and her granddaughters Kaylee Wasacz and Addison Considine, also of Poughkeepsie, NY. Cheryl had a passion for crafting and loved making her own beaded jewelry. She also enjoyed listening to music, reading and listening to audiobooks, and spending time planting flowers. Above all, she treasured moments spent with her family and friends. Cheryl was known for her love of shopping on Amazon Prime. Visitation will be held on January 5, 2024, at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, located at 371 Hooker Ave, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, with a service to follow at 5:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations be made to the Hudson Valley Hospice Foundation at 80 Washington St, Suite 201, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. Cheryl will be dearly missed by all who knew her, and her memory will forever be cherished.
