Obituary of Benedetto Dalia

Benedetto “Ben” Dalia, 62, of Poughkeepsie passed away Monday January 8, 2024 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in Poughkeepsie, New York on July 25, 1961, he was the son of the late Vincenzo and Felice (DeFranco) Dalia. He married Christine DeHart in 1990. 

Ben was a local resident all his life. He worked at the family business TJ’s Pizza in Poughkeepsie and devoted his spare time to helping his wife with their family’s new sauce venture.

Ben attended Poughkeepsie High School where he excelled as an athlete on the school’s baseball team.

Ben loved to watch classic country westerns, enjoyed going to the track, and looked forward to his yearly trip to Florida with his cousins. He was a huge sports lover and a very passionate New York Jets fan.

But most of all, Ben loved his family. His girls were his life, as he very often and very proudly mentioned. Anyone who knew Ben knew his family meant more to him than anything else in the world. He was the most loving husband, father, brother, son, and uncle anyone could ask for. He was a rock to many and a friend and confidant to many more. He would do anything for those he loved.

Ben is survived by his wife Christine, his daughters Angelina Dalia of Poughkeepsie, Josephine Dalia of Poughkeepsie, Sabrina (Dalia) Janke and her husband Chris of Westfield, Massachusetts, his sister Cathy Servodio and her husband Bernie of Poughkeepsie, his brother Saverio Dalia and his wife Linda of Poughkeepsie, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and his grandpups Rollo and Rory.

Funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
