Obituary of Olga Sefcik

Olga Sefcik, 92, of LaGrange passed away peacefully on Monday, January 15, 2024.

Ollie was born in Manhattan to Stepan and Marie Vojir on April 22, 1931. She married Matthew Sefcik on April 30, 1955 in NYC then later moved to Lagrange in 1960. She retired from NY Telephone in 1985 and enjoyed gardening, thrifting, crossword puzzles, watching Jeopardy and spending time with family and her loyal cat GoodGirl. She also loved being a snowbird and spent many winters in Stuart FL.

She is survived by her daughter, Kristina (David) Zybala, Charlotte NC; daughter in law Donna Sefcik, Town of Lagrange, and 5 grandchildren: Matthew (Katie) Sefcik, Lagrange; Kara (Adam) Seifts, Hopewell Junction; Lindy (Patrick) McDonough, Poughkeepsie; Caroline (Zack) Horowitz, Rockville MD and Daniel Zybala, Buffalo NY.

She was also GiGi to Matthew, Evelyn, Aria and Cameron and is also survived by many nieces & nephews. 

Ollie is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, Matthew Sefcik, her loving son, Matthew Stepan Sefcik and her brother Stephen Vojir.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 19, from 5:00-7:00, at Timothy Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave, Poughkeepsie NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
