Damien and I were great friends as kids. We did wrestling at AHS together, graduated, and then we got to spend time at college together as well because we weren't far away while he was in Lowell. He and I even joined the military around the same time. While we lived very far apart, I saw he and I lived parallel lives in some ways. We shared a lot of history and a lot of good memories. His passing has saddened me greatly. I send my deepest condolences to the family.

Wanda and the rest of the family, I am so saddened to learn of Damien's passing. He was one of the 'regulars' at my house on Crestwood Blvd after school and on weekends, playing with my son Brandon and their pal Dan Toth. Damien was so polite, respectful and I always loved to have him at the house. He was such a good influence on my son and the rest of the gang. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers as you find peace in this time of grief. The Balkind family will always cherish our memories of Damien and the light he brought into our lives.
