Obituary of Yolanda Carrothers

Yolanda "Lonnie" (Pataro) Carrothers, aged 86, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2024, in Raleigh, North Carolina. She was born on October 11, 1937, in Poughkeepsie, New York, to Rudolph and Gilda Pataro. Living in Poughkeepsie nearly all her life, she graduated from Poughkeepsie High School.  She married Robert "Bob" Carrothers on June 15, 1958, and they had one daughter, Leslie Carrothers Hooper, who survives and resides in Apex, North Carolina.

Lonnie retired from a successful career at the Dutchess County Sheriff's Department, where she was the Executive Assistant to three consecutive Sheriffs (Quinlan, Scoralick, and Anderson).  During her daughter's school years, she was an active member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and the Mother's Club associated with the elementary school.  She was an avid gardener and cook, and enjoyed large family gatherings and outings with friends.  Her family was everything to her.

In addition to her husband, Lonnie is predeceased by a beloved Brother, Rudolph Pataro Jr.  She is also survived by a nephew, two nieces, eight grand-nephews and nieces, and her Godson, Bishop Jerry Colacicco.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday, April 9th, from 5;00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie.  A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Poughkeepsie at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 10th.   Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.
