Obituary of Vivian Garcia Giarratano

Vivian Garcia Giarratano 68 of Poughkeepsie passed away on May 1, 2024, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in Manhattan on May 1, 1956, she was the daughter of John and Carmen Caballero Garcia.

Vivian has been a resident since 2021 previously from Brooklyn, NY.

Vivian worked at Marist College as a Security Officer.

She was a member of the Valley Christian Church in Hopewell. She loved being around her grandchildren, loved listening to music, and shopping, especially at the clearance section of BJs.

Vivian is survived by her daughter Christine Acosta Chavez of Poughkeepsie, daughter, and son-in-law Erika and Aaron Thomas of Poughquag, grandchildren Michael Gonzalez, Aiden Mesa, Jovanny Mesa, Cameron Broughton, Aaron Thomas II and Alessandra Thomas, sisters Ruth Garcia, Ginette Garcia and brother Anthony Garcia.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday Mary 11, 2024 from 10 am to 1230pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, NY. Funeral services will follow at 1230pm.
