Obituary of Janice Marie Bub Daley

Janice Marie Bub Daley passed away on Tuesday May 7, 2024 at home surrounded by her family.

Janice was born on June 23, 1932, at St. Francis Hospital Poughkeepsie. She was the daughter of Alfred F. and Caroline Opitz Bub.

Janice was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Parochial School and FDR High School Class of 1950.

Janice worked at IBM Poughkeepsie, Liberty Mutal Insurance Co. Boston MA, and Spackenkill School District retiring in 1990.

Janice married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Thomas G. Daley, on July 26, 1952, at St. Joseph’s Church in Poughkeepsie.

She was a member of Stigma Fraternity, Secular Franciscans (OFS) being professed on June 28, 2001. Janice was also a volunteer and lector at Mt Alvernia. She was a volunteer for Special Olympics especially swimming. She was a member of Skyllkill Needlework Chapter EGA, Apple Valley Stitchers, and attended Knit & Knosh East Fishkill with her daughter Sharon, Club 60 Seniors, she enjoyed bus trips with family and friends and especially joyful when granddaughter Tanya became a member of the Catholic Church, also did not miss many sports events the grandkids were in.

Janice is survived by her children Thomas G. and Colleen Daley of Red Hook, Timothy and Gina Daley of Poughkeepsie, Brian whom she resides with, Kevin Daley of Pleasant Valley, grandchildren Daniel T. Daley, Tatyana Daley, Alexander Daley, Samuel Daley, sister Catherine and Joseph DeGeorge of Sacandaga and several nieces and nephews.

Janice was predeceased by her husband Thomas, her daughter Sharon, her son Richard sister in-laws and brother in-laws Gertrude and Frederick Trani, and James and Fay Daley.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 13, 2024, from 4pm to 8pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 930am on Tuesday May 14, 2024, at St Martin DePorres Church Cedar Valley Road Poughkeepsie with Burial to follow at St Joseph Cemetery.
