So sorry I will be in Virginia for Bill’s calling hours. I think Bill will forgive me as I will be at a meeting of the Northeast Conservation Law Enforcement Chiefs, and Bill was a great supporter of the conservation officers in New York, and was always a friend and advisor to me. He is missed.

I’m so sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. He was a great friend and ally when I was coordinator of the Hudson River Estuary Program and worked for us briefly after he retired from IBM. He created good working relationships between sportsmen and environmentalists when he served on our Estuary advisory committee. He always invited me to the annual Dutchess County Federation dinner and sat at my table on the times that I attended. Bridge builders like Bill are rare and he will be a hard act to follow. Condolences to Brenda and the rest of the family. Fran D

Bill, thank you for being my office mate at IBM. I admired your smarts, followed your lead and mostly enjoyed our family conversations and laughs. It's a little late for this but I guess its time to finally forgive you for "noting" that my stockings were sagging at my knees when I wasn't wearing stockings that day. Ouch. More importantly, I want to thank you for instilling a love of the outdoors and environmental stewardship in my children, sponsoring them multiple times to attend Camp DeBruce. And for featuring my daughter at the age of 5 in an article that you wrote on ice fishing She was very proud to have her photo, holding her big fish, in the newspaper. You were truly a good person and a good friend and I am very sad that it was your time to leave us all. My heartfelt condolences to Brenda, Dana, Matt and family.

Bill was a dedicated and committed conservationist who fought to protect the woods and waters of NY state and our ability to access them. His passion for this was inspirational, and I know he left the world a better place than it was before. May he rest in peace.

It's hard to put in to words the loss of a friend of almost 70 years. His knowledge and insightfulness will be missed, what a loss. A true friend. My condolences to Brenda, the rest of his family and to his many friends.

Farewell Bill. A great voice for conservation has been stilled, but God now has a new environmental advisor.

I met Bill in September at a CFAB meeting, and I really wish I had more time to learn from him. Our hunting and fishing communities have lost an amazing wise advocate. Condolences to his family

New York owes Bill Connor a debt of gratitude for his dedication to conservation and protection of the outdoors. Bill's institutional knowledge of the issues with regard to sportsmen and women while serving on the Conservation Fund Advisory Board and the Fish and Wildlife Management Board, as well as his years promoting outdoor activities as an outdoor writer were invaluable to the people of New York who cherish our natural resources. He will be sorely missed.
