Obituary of Susan Campbell

Suzanne J. Campbell, 89, of Poughkeepsie passed away on Sunday July 7th, 2024.

Born at home in Poughkeepsie/Dog Town USA on August 2,1934. She was the youngest daughter of the late Giuseppe Mitarotonda /Metrando and the late Maria (Di) Giannantonio.

On June 30, 1957, she married John K. Campbell Sr. at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, who predeceased her on November 7, 1983

She worked at Vassar College retiring in 1994.

She was a local resident all her life, she attended St Mary’s School in Poughkeepsie, was a graduate of Roosevelt High School and a past member of the Moose Club in Hyde Park.

Suzanne is Survived by her two son’s John K. Campbell Jr, (Lucille) of Wurtsboro NY, and James T. Campbell (Joy) of Poughkeepsie, NY.

Grandchildren, Kaitlyn Campbell, Tyler Campbell, Alisha Dekoskie and Samantha Halstead.

Great granddaughter, Scarlett Serino

Suzanne, as a young girl had a lifelong friendship with Greta Beneway who will miss her dearly.

Her past time was playing Bingo, where she made many friends throughout the years.

Suzanne was predeceased by her siblings Michael, Gomiel, Dominic, Andrew, James, Rocco, Francis (TT), Angelo (Didi) Diane, Mary and Margaret.

Visitation will be held Sunday July 14, 2024 from 2pm to 4pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.

Funeral Services will be held Monday July 15, 2024 10am at the Funeral Home with Burial to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
