Kathy Fouhy

Obituary of Kathy A Fouhy

Kathleen Ann (Santopadre) Fouhy passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, July 22, 2024, after a brief bout with cancer. Kathy was born in Poughkeepsie on August 25, 1952, to Louis and Mary Santopadre. She attended local schools and graduated with honors from Our Lady of Lourdes High School, and went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude from Wagner College with a degree in Early Education. After schooling, Kathy spent a year living and working in Montauk, NY where she made and left many ever-lasting friendships. The following year Kathy worked at a Montessori school in Boca Raton, Florida before returning to NY. It was at the Dutch Cabin where she met and eventually proposed to (that’s right) and married Dennis Fouhy in 1977. Kathy went on to substitute teach but eventually ended up working in the family business; De’S Jewelers, as Secretary-Treasurer. In 1982 they had a son, Ryan Louis, and in 1984 twins, Christopher Dennis and Matthew Robert. The years following were filled with travel soccer, basketball games, and great times together with the amazing bevy of friends that remain today. She is survived by her husband Dennis, her three sons, her sister Linda Corliss, nieces Kristen Corliss, and Allison Fouhy-Bodden, great niece Theia Corliss- Edghill, and several cousins. She will be especially missed by her longest and closest childhood friend, Rochelle (Potenza) Perry, her dinner group of long-time lady friends, alongside the countless people in the community who knew her. While our hearts are forever broken the memories and great times we spent together will live with us forever. Calling hours are Friday, July 26th at Timothy Doyle Funeral Home, 2-5 PM. Donations in Kathy’s name can be made to Hospice or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
