Obituary of Dimitra Kalamaras

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dimitra Kalamaras, who tragically left us on August 13, 2024. Born on February 14, 1983, in Queens, NY, to George and Athanasia Kalamaras, Dimitra brought tremendous joy and love into the lives of all who knew her.  Dimitra was a radiant soul whose warmth and kindness resonated through her interactions with family and friends. She had an unwavering spirit and a zest for life that inspired all those around her. She touched the lives of so many patients as a compassionate and hard-working nurse, offered endless encouragement to family and friends, and helped strangers in need.  Dimitra’s presence was a gift that will be dearly missed. Exceptional motherhood defined Dimitra. She was a constant presence in her children’s lives. From never missing a soccer or basketball game to planning pool parties for family and friends, she truly embodied what it means to be a selfless mother who put her kids, Isaiah, Athanasia, and MJ above all else.  She is survived by her beloved parents, George and Athanasia, her sister Panagiota, and a circle of family and friends who cherish her deeply. Dimitra’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her. Visitation will be held on August 23, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Timothy P.
