Obituary of Larry Wayne Tyree

Larry Wayne Tyree of Poughkeepsie passed away at Vassar Hospital on Saturday, August 17, 2024.

Born in Raleigh, North Carolina, Larry was the son of the late Douglas H. Tyree and the late Mary Harris Tyree Huff.

On April 12, 1996, in South Carolina Larry married Susan Ann Martin Keith, she survives at home in Poughkeepsie.

Larry moved to the Hudson Valley 15 years ago and worked at RE Michaels. Shortly after he started working at the Town of Poughkeepsie Water Department where he made many special friends, he loved life and was always there to help anyone at any time at any moment’s notice. He loved being surrounded by people and not taking life to seriously. Larry’s smile, laugh, and southern draw could put a smile on anyone’s face. Larry was an amazing man and touched many lives throughout his short time with us. Larry was an avid NASCAR fan and UNC fan, and on any given Sunday he would be watching the race with his wife. He cherished time with his wife, family and friends more than anythingin the world and he will be deeply missed by all.

Larry is survived by his children Larry Wayne Tyree Jr (Jennifer) of Raleigh NC., Robert Paul Tyree(Lisa) of Durham NC., Heather Nicole Tyree (Nathan) of Roanoke Rapids NC., Thomas Lloyd Keith Jr. (Karen) of Poughkeepsie., Susan Keith Cardinale (Alfred) of Poughkeepsie., Colleen Keith Herman (Paul) of Poughkeepsie., grandchildren Logan, Riley, Hadley, Avery, Oliver, Paisley Tyree, Joseph Evans (Maddie), Amanda Evans, Sara Keith, Al Cardinale, great-grandchildren Savannah and Jack Evans siblings Karen Tyree Sealey (Eulas) and Brandy Brown (Kristin). Nieces Marie Sealey and Marissa Herman (Kyle). He is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Larry was predeceased by his siblings Allen Tyree, Edward Tyree, and Kay Lorraine Tyree.

A Celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. A prayer Service will be held at 6:30 pm.

Burial will be at the convenience of the Family.
