Obituary of Barbara E. Deane

Barbara E. Deane, 84, of Poughkeepsie passed away on October 4, 2024. Born on June 11, 1940, to Albert and Marjorie (Tompkins) White, she spent most of her life as a resident of Dutchess County. Barbara spent many of those years as a secretary for Wappingers Central School District, at John Jay High School.

She was married to Edwin Deane up until his passing in 1995. 

Barbara is survived by her sons Edwin “Pete” (Maria) Deane of Poughkeepsie, and James (Sharon) Deane of North Carolina. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Patricia Keller, Heather Thomas, Kevin Deane, Kayla Deane, Tyler Deane,  along with 10 great grandchildren. Barbara was preceded by her son Kevin Deane and sister in-law Betty Jane-Hill but is remembered by her daughter-in-law Gladys Deane.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 11, 2024, at Union Cemetery in Hyde Park.
