Doug was a hearty teacher with a great can-do attitude. When another instructor unexpectedly bailed out of a course that was due to begin that night, Doug agreed to tackle the topic -- and showed up that same night to get it started.

I met Dougie when I worked at the Marist Fishkill Center. I remember fondly the night I had to pick him up when his car broke down on Route 9 and he told me jokes the whole way back to Marist.

Judith and Doug Jr, my deepest sympathies to you. Doug Sr. was a wonderful man, full of life, and he certainly made me laugh on several occasions. To Doug's family. My deepest sympathy in your time of sorrow. Doug was one of my favorite Marist instructors and I will miss him. Brush Family, I am very saddened to hear of your loss. I had classes with Doug as part of my IBM affiliated adult education classes at Marist. He was clearly a warm and caring gentleman and an excellent instructor who connected with his students. Looking through his write-up, he had a full and accomplished life which I am sure you are all proud of. My thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time. I just lost my dad in September at the age of 81 and I know how difficult it is to lose someone so special in your life. Sincerely,
