Obituary of Edith Layton

On November 25, 2011, Edith Elizabeth Layton passed away at the age of 99 peacefully at her daughter’s residence in Millbrook, N.Y. She was born August 16, 1912 to Mia and Victor Nygren in Millbrook, N.Y. She married Donald Layton on September 9, 1939 and they had a daughter Ellen who married Jacques Pecourt of Millbrook and also a son Victor Layton and daughter in-law Robin and they reside in Springville Utah. Edith’s husband Donald predeceased her in 1976. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is also survived by her granddaughter Nicole Pecourt and Nicole’s fiancé Sean O’Gorman of Poughkeepsie, granddaughter Chantal Daigneault and her husband John of Hyde Park and her three great grandchildren Ian, Sophia and Elias Daigneault. There will be no calling hours and inurnment will be at the discretion of the family. Edith will always be remembered for her warm smile and kindness and love to her family and others.
