I was so saddened to read of Mike's passing. It is far too early for someone in the prime of life to leave family and friends behind but it is not up to us. I taught Mike at Mt. Carmel oh so many years ago! Such great memories of that time are vivid in my mind. I remember Mike to have such a wonderful sense of humor and to have a gentle kindness for all. To The Family, I am so so sorry I just found out This afternoon. Mike was a Great Guy.I have so many memories of Us all in Mt. McPeck family, I am so sad to hear of Mike's passing. We played baseball together at Poughkeepsie high (where the nickname Mountain was coined), and even basketball down at Franklin school, where I remember Mike would bring down a snowblower in the winter so we could play. My prayers are with Mike's wife and daughters, as well as the whole family. I would have liked to come pay my respects but didnt hear until this evening.

Dear Rita and family, I was very sad to hear of Mike's passing. My heart and prayers are with you all at this very difficult time. I'd like to share that Mike was an incredible soul. I think his smile says it all!! Just present and very warm. Mike was always that to me. I have great memories of him growing up in Poughkeepsie, especially playing sports and the La Deliziosa bakery!! One thing I would like to share is the several times Mike would stop by the house. I would be practicing all the time. He LOVED MUSIC!! When he heard me play, he often would be in awe at the most simplest thing I would play and said that "I rocked!" His enthusiasm and passion for life, sports, friends and music definitely resonated with people who knew him. Rita, Kayleigh & Cecilia and all my cousins in Poughkeepsie. What a shock it was to get that phone call. Everyone here still can't believe that Mike is gone to be with our Lord and Savior. Our hearts are heavy with the loss that you all must be feeling. The mention of his name always brought great memories of the times together; his introducing me to different music like the Red Hot Chili Peppers and our trips to Niagara Falls and New York City (on the coldest day of the year). Thinking of my cousin Mike has always brought a smile to my face. What an incredible warmth he held within! WOW. I don't know what to say. Yep Mike always liked baseball as we adn the whole neighborhood use to play hardball all the time on the Franklin school ground aiming for his White house he use to live at but only to reach the gray house of an poor old lady. We also worked together in the local LaDel. pastry shop for a few years rolling those canolis every sunday til our hands hurt from stamping the doe out. I will remember those good times we had as kids growing up. I am sure he will be missed. Thoughts are with his family, wife and kids. Sincerly Tony
