Obituary of Michael McPeck
Michael D. McPeck, 47, of the Town of Poughkeepsie died Thursday, September 29, 2011 at home. Born in Poughkeepsie on September 8, 1964, he was the son of William McPeck and the late Marilyn Dubraski McPeck. Mike attended Our Lady of Mount Carmel School and was a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School and Dutchess Community College. On April 8, 1989, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Michael married Rita Timpano. Michael worked for the New York State Department of Transportation in the IT Department in Poughkeepsie. He was a local resident all his life and a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Mike was an avid Mets fan, was a past President of the Mount Carmel PTA and a current Board member of the Town of Poughkeepsie Girls Little League Softball. Mike coached his daughtersâ softball teams. He also started and coached the Hudson Valley LadyHawks girls travel softball team. Everyone who knew Mike knew him as a Great Coach. He led the 11 and 12 year old girlsâ softball team to become the District 17 Champs. Mike also received the Coach of the Year award from the Town of Poughkeepsie Girls Little League Softball. Mike was involved with the American Cancer SocietyâÂÂs Relay for Life for many years especially after the death of his mother Marilyn. He loved to cook and was a great baker. Mike even made and decorated his own wedding cake. But most of all, Mike loved to spend time with his wife and daughters. Mike is survived by his wife Rita and their two daughters Kayleigh and Cecilia. He is survived by his father William McPeck of Poughkeepsie; brother Scott McPeck and his wife Christina of Poughkeepsie; sister Kelly Cole and her husband Vinny Paonessa of Salt Point; grandmother Helen Dubraski of Poughkeepsie and mother-in-law Teresa Timpano of Poughkeepsie. Mike is also survived by his sister-in-law and her husband Francesca and Mark Bouffard of Pawling; sister-in-law Stefani Timpano, and brother-in-law Agostino Timpano, both of Poughkeepsie. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews Amanda, Rebecca, Madison, Robert, Jacob and Luke and his great-nephew and great-niece, Matthew and Sarah. Mike also leaves behind his close friends and their daughter Stacey, Scott and Marissa Langenthal of Poughkeepsie and Bob and Jackie Sullen of Highland and several aunts, uncles and other close friends. Mike was predeceased by his mother Marilyn and his father-in-law Francesco Timpano. Calling hours will be held Monday, October 3, 2011 from 4pm to 8pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church with burial to follow at St. PeterâÂÂs Cemetery.
