Dear Debbie and Family, I learned of Delores' passing late last evening. I'm sorry I was not able to attend the calling hours. News of her death brings me great sadness. She and I were co-workers many years ago. It's important to recognize that I have had only two major mentors in my life: one was my grandfather and the other was Dee. She was more than just a cook; she was a great and multi-talented Chef. I learned more of the trade from her than anyone. She also had great character and I learned how to stand up for myself at a young age by following her examples of leadership. This was no small feat during the past; when women were rarely appreciated in the culinary field. I will miss her and her rare sense of humor. My most sincere condolences to all of you at this time.
