Scott, It has taken me a while to be able to write my condolences, as there are no words that could truly express how sorry I am for you and for her. I have never in my life seen a more genuinely in-love couple than the two of you. Meg loved you so very, very much, as you did her. It was obvious to me every time I saw the two of you together that you were indeed one. It reminded me that when love is perfect, “one plus one equals one“, and as you know, two hearts begin to beat as one. I can't even begin to imagine how your are feeling. I truly mean it when I say that Meg was “one of a kind”. I never met anyone like her. She had that special way about her. She was real, with no feelings spared. She welcomed me into her life and her heart like no one before. I am forever grateful and honored to have called her my friend. Meg’s smile, beauty, love, and laughter will continue to be with us each day. Forever more, when I see and feel the sun shining, I will be reminded that she is still with us, as she was the truly the sunshine in our lives. I wrote and re-wrote this so many times, but nothing seems quite right. Someone once said "What's within us is a cold silence.... a unique sadness... an unending want for just one more day with her, just one more word, just one more touch." You might not understand right now why Meg was taken so early, or why she left before you were even THINKING to say good-bye to her, but little by little you might start to remember not just that she died, but that she LIVED ....that her short life gave you all so many memories too good to forget.... like her beautiful Walkway wedding.....we wish we had been there. Meg...you were the kind of friend most people hope for in life...the kind of friend who was there no matter what the circumstance... Your smile was so warm and inviting that everyone who met you immediately wanted to be your friend... I can remember the first time I met you in 6th grade I had to go to Roosevelt for orchestra and I was a nervous wreck (I was very shy then) I walked in and you were one of the first people to introduce yourself and all it took was your smile and I felt at ease and I never forgot that... EVERYONE KNOWS MEG HATES CLOWNS. ONE DAY WE WERE WORKING MEG, SHERRI AND ME SHERRI AND I LOOK OVER AT THE COUCH IN THE WAITING AREA AND LONG BEHOLD THERE'S A CLOWN. MEG DID NOT SEE HIM YET AND HE WAS DRESSED IN FULL GEAR. WHEN HE WAS READY TO PAY HIS BILL SHERRI AND I HID IN MY OFFICE . THE CUSTOMER SAID EXCUSE ME MEG GOT UP AND SAW HIM AND CAME RUNNING AND SCREAMING BANGING ON THE DOOR CRYING I'M NOT HELPING HIM WE NEVER LAUGHED SO HARD ONLY AFTER HE LEFT. WE SHARED ALOT OF YEARS LIKE THAT I'LL NEVER FORGET OR TRADE. MY AND SHERRI'S FAVORITE MOMENT WAS WHEN MEG WON EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR SHE LOOKED SO BEAUTIFUL WE COULDN'T BE MORE PROUD WAY TO GO GIRL. Sending love and prayers to Meg's family. I will always treasure our friendship...from ages 11-18, Meg was an ever-present part of my life. We spent endless days together at the barn - riding the horses, mucking stalls, brushing the horses - anything that needed to be done because we just loved to be there and with the horses. We rode to school together everyday - Meg taught me how to drive. She went to Florida with my mom and I. She was always that happiest kindest soul. Everyone loved her - she had no enemies. I remember crashing her Blazer when we were in high school and her saying "Ugh, I'm mad at you, but I don't want to be!"; she was mad at herself for being mad at me. I will love her always and I can only imagine how difficult this is for you. I pray for your peace and healing.
