On behalf of our family I would like to say thank you all who payed their respects to Mom in person, via cards, email and online. This has been a tough time for all of us and your support is tremendously appreciated. Mom was a special woman who will be greatly missed. I can not yet imagine not having her here on Friendly Lane. Thank you all. Howard

I wanted to extend our heartfelt condolences over the loss of your mom & grandmother. I have many fond memories of her growing up in Poughkeepsie & always admired her for her strength as well as her tolerance of us neighborhood kids as we used her house / yard as one of our regular play places. We certainly could be a rowdy bunch at times. We have her and all of you in our thoughts & prayers. Tom & Lee

As one of the two dozen or so children that grew up on Friendly Lane during the 60's, 70's and 80's, the "Mommies" on our then dead end street always looked out for each others children. Mrs. Moshier was one of those mothers who served up discipline & love on our street. Ma Moshier was also a visible presence as an employee & mother figure at Arlington Elementary School(AES) to the many children of the Friendly Lane Gang. I was fondly known (then & now) as Char Char to Ma. Moshier. I knew there wasn't anything bad I'd get away with @AES, especially if Mrs. Moshier saw it because she'd address right then & there. I also knew that by the end of that day, my mother would know too.. which wasn't always a good thing for my back side LOL! It takes a village!!!
I was able to have some real quality time w/Ma Moshier this past January... just me and her. We talked about life... how our families were doing... & shared a few laughs. It was very special for me & I believe she also enjoyed the time we shared together. Those moments will rest in my heart forever. I was able to share a prayer w/her, some hugs & kisses and we told each other "I love you!" Yea... growing up on Friendly Lane as one of the beloved "gang of kids" was good but Ma Moshier helped to make it safe, special & full of love! Thank you soooo very, very, much Ma Moshier for what you deposited into my life because it help to shape & mold into the woman I am today! I will miss you so very much... I love you!

Dawn, I'm so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. She was a very special lady and a big help to me at Arlington Elementary. I know she was so proud of her grandchildren. May God's blessing, fond memories and time give you and your family peace. Fondly, Bobbie

It was with a heavy heart that I learned yesterday of the passing of Dolores Moshier. It wasn't so much because I had her three children, Howard, Dawn, Debbie, and grandchild Erica in my class. Dolores was a friend who gave me more positive advice in how to conduct myself as a professional teacher as we worked together in Arlington Elementary School for over thirty years. I probably would have been fired many times if it wasn't for her. I wasn't exactly the greatest in dealing with authority figures. Dolores kept me under control. If it was up to me, I would rename Arlington Elementary " The Dolores S. Moshier School." She was that important to the smooth running of our school and the solidarity amongst our teachers and staff. I will never forget her. With heartfelt and deepest sympathy - Ken Robbins it wasn't for her calming voice
