Obituary of Carole Blandino

Carole H. Blandino, age 87, of Poughkeepsie, died Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Lutheran Care Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. Carole was born August 27, 1925 in Poughkeepsie, NY. She is the daughter of the late Ralph and the late Rose (Accellaro) Giummaro. She married Salvatore Blandino on January 12, 1947 at Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel Church. Carole was a member of Holy Trinity Church Poughkeepsie, she attended Poughkeepsie High School. She was a devoted Wife, loving Mother and loyal friend who lived for her husband, children, grandchildren and extended family. Her overwhelming creativity together with her hands of gold made her the quintessential designer and homemaker. An exceptional cook and baker, she could make anything to perfection. Carole was a small woman with a big heart; feisty, determined and firm yet kind, wise, giving and fun loving. She was adored by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband: Salvatore Blandino ;daughter Donna Marie Doremus of Poughkeepsie; Son and Daughter In-law, Dennis M. and Nancy Blandino of Poughkeepsie; One Grand Daughter, Theresa Marie Laffin and her husband Brett of Wappingers and her Sister Jean Schliesman of Pleasant Valley, NY. Carole was predeceased by her Sister, Helen Galuppo, Sister, Violia DiGiralmo, Brother, George Giummaro, Brother, Michael Giummaro. Calling hours will be Friday December 21, 2012 from 4pm to 7pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. Funeral services will be at the funeral home 10 am Saturday December 22, 2012, burial will follow at St. Peters Cemetery.
