Obituary of Peter Devereaux

Peter L. Devereaux, age 77, of Poughkeepsie, died Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. Peter was born June 8, 1935 in Groton, NY. He is the son of the late John and the late Teresa (Lane) Devereaux. He married Audrey K. Johnson on May 17, 1958 in Ballston Spa, New York. Peter was a local resident for the past 40 years, previously from Schenectady, New York. He served in the Army. He retired from IBM Poughkeepsie as a Sr. Service Planning Rep. in 1992. Peter was a graduate of Moravia High School and Alfred Tech. Peter served his Country from 1958 til1960 in the United States Army. Her was a Wappinger School Board member from 1979 to 1985 and was a Civil War Enthusiast. He is survived by his wife: Audrey K.(Johnson) Devereaux and three daughters: Christine VanLeuvan of Kingston, NY, Patricia Devereaux of Salt Lake Sity, Utah, Nancy Devereaux of Westernville, NY; Daughter And Son In-law, Kathleen And Gary Sidote of Hopewell Junction, NY; Daughter And Son In-law, Mary And William Biasotti of Warrensburg, Missouri, Nine grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 am on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Main Street Pleasant Valley. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, following the funeral Mass . Calling hours will be Tuesday, February 26 from 4pm to 8pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY.
