I had the pleasure of knowing Linda for a short time over 40 years ago. Reading about her passing brought up fond and funny memories which are a tribute to her personality and lasting impression.
Summer of 73/74 at Stewarts Soup & Sandwich in Pleasant Valley, Linda was assigned the duty to manage while Mr. Littel went on vacation. She came in dressed up just like him in black pants, white shirt and big cigar.
Obviously, Norman and Linda were newlyweds and very much in love. I remember Linda showing us her bridal gown. Best of all the "Yellow Birds" they shared with us in their home.
Also, the fact that Linda moved on to teach and was successful in her chosen profession is wonderful.
Although we did not maintain contact over these many years, Linda is part of fond memories from that time.
Please convey my sincere condolences to Norman and her family.

I'm not sure where to begin... You were my role model and someone I learned so much from. You are a kind and gentle soul who showed kindness and patience to all... Not to mention the best fudge maker ever! I am truly heartbroken and will miss you so much. Thank you for being my mentor, and guiding me and teaching me the ropes at UVMS. I couldn't have asked for a better woman to look up to. I will miss our summer lunches at Shadows. Please rest peacefully.
Thank you for being a part of my life. I am a better teacher and person because of you.

Mrs. Tyler, not only were you a great neighbor growing up but you were one of the best teachers I've ever had. Growing up with a learning disability I struggled in school. Teachers told me that I should find another profession other than teaching because that career choice will never happen. You inspired me to touch the lives of young kids like you touched my life since middle school. You always were there for me and encouraged me to chase my dreams. Thank you for being a positive role model and for defining what a real teacher is, someone who loves, encourages and never allows someone to give up just because people say you can't. RIP you will forever be loved and missed. My career is dedicated to you!
