Obituary of William Forrest

William " Billy " J. Forrest, age 50, of Poughkeepsie, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Thursday, August 22, 2013 while doing work that he loved. Billy was born August 1, 1963 in Poughkeepsie, NY. He is the son of the late George E. and Ruth I. (Anders) Forrest. Billy was a highly respected carpenter who put his signature touch on everything he created. Billy had a lifelong appreciation of the outdoors and everything mother nature had to offer. He had a passion for fishing, hunting and farming. Billy made friends where ever he went and could put a smile on anyone's face. He loved his family, he had so many friends. Most of all he loved his daughter, Emily and his pride and joy, his grandson Shawn. He is survived by one daughter: Emily Forrest of Augusta GA; his grandson, Shawn Patrick Sweeney III of Augusta, GA; his mother Ruth I. (Anders) Forrest; Brother of four sisters: Dawn Dolson of Washington, NC, Brenda Pagano of Raleigh, NC, Gail Forrest of Raleigh, NC, Ruth Armstrong of Boston, MA; Brother And Sister In-law, George And Marie Forrest of Raleigh, NC; Sister And Brother In-law, Debbie And Sam Greco of Poughkeepsie, NY; Brother And Sister In-law, Brad And Debbie Forrest of Poughkeepsie, NY; Sister And Brother In-law, Barbara And Bill Germiller of Raleigh, NC; Brother And Sister In-law, Glen And Paula Forrest of Lynchburg, VA. and numerous nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Monday, August 26 from 4pm to 8pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY.
