Obituary of Frida DeNitto

Frida DeNitto, 91, of Poughkeepsie died Sunday, September 8, 2013 at the Baptist Home in Rhinebeck. Born on January 29, 1922 in Marlia, Lucca, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Pietro and Iola Mariani Simonetti. Frida came to the United States in 1939. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and hosting many family gatherings. She was a cafeteria worker at Vassar Road Elementary School for many years until retiring in 2005. She was a member of St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church. Frida is survived by 4 daughters and their husbands and partners, Antoinette and Thomas Skeen of Paris, KY, Rita and Robert Young of Lexington, KY, Mary DeNitto and Thomas Riozzi of Rhinebeck, NY and Josephine DeNitto and Timothy Snyder of Clinton Corners, NY. She is also survived by her sister, Anna Stefanini, of Highland, NY, 4 grandchildren, Kimberly Houlihan of Frankfort, KY, Thomas Skeen II of Paris, KY, Jennifer Hinkson of Pendleton, KY and Matthew Bowman of Avon Lake, OH, as well as several great-grandchildren. Frida was predeceased by her sister, Orfea Belloni, in 1984. Calling hours will be held from 4 - 8pm on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, September 13, 2013 at 10:00am at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church.
