Obituary of Doreen Waite

Doreen Waite, 55, of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away Friday, February 7, 2014 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Doreen was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on October 17, 1958 to Santo and Greta (Carlson) Ruggiero. On June 9, 1985 Doreen married Steven Waite in Poughkeepsie, NY. Steven survives at home. Doreen was a lifelong area resident of Poughkeepsie. She worked for Health Quest in the pathology department at Vassar Brothers Medical Center as a Medical Transcriptionist. Prior to Health Quest Doreen also was a hairdresser for many years. Doreen was an avid animal lover and loved her cats and dogs dearly. She frequently would donate to the Humane Society and the SPCA. She also loved gardening and vacationing on the beach. Doreen had an infectious laugh that would always put a smile on people's faces. Doreen was pre-deceased in life by her father Santo. Doreen is survived by her husband Steven and their pets, her mother, Greta Ruggiero, sister, Lisa Haering and husband Paul, Father and Mother- in- law, Charles and Antoinette Waite, Brothers-in-law, Charlie Waite Jr. and wife Joanie, Michael Waite and wife Nancy, David Waite and wife Freddie, sister-in-law, Jackie Waite, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and many loving friends.
