Obituary of John Dubetsky
John Dubetsky, age 81, of Lagrange, died Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center Poughkeepsie, NY. John was born November 13, 1932 in Hazelton PA. He is the son of the late Andrew and the late Anna (Spock) Dubetsky. He married Mary Andrews on September 13, 1958 in Hazelton PA. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary (Andrews) Dubetsky on December 22, 2013.
He served in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1954. He retired from IBM Poughkeepsie in 1990 after 31 years of service. He was a graduate of Penn State University.
John was a member of St. Martin dePorres Church, Poughkeepsie Elks BPOE 275, IBM Quarter Century Club and the Arrow Head Hunting Club where he was a 43 Year member.
John has been a local resident since 1965, previously from Levittown, PA. John loved to hunt and enjoyed guns.
He is survived by one daughter: Vanessa Dubetsky and her partner Patrick Muller of Ulster Park, NY., two sons, Paul Dubetsky and his wife Paula of Clinton Corners, NY, David Dubetsky of Lagrange, NY; brother Lawrence Dubetsky of Tamaqua PA., sister Marie Goudy of Poughkeepsie, NY., his two grandsons, Jay and Eric Dubetsky and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 am on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at St. Martin dePorres Church, Cedar Valley Road, Poughkeepsie, NY. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Poughkeepsie after the Church Services.
Calling hours will be Monday, June 2, 2014 from 5pm to 7pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org/donate.
