Obituary of Shelagh Russo

Shelagh M. Russo, age 85, of Poughkeepsie, died Monday, October 6, 2014 at River Valley Care Center of Poughkeepsie, NY. Shelagh was born December 13, 1928 in Poughkeepsie, NY. She is the daughter of the late John and the late Katherine (Rinkle) Dean. She married William Russo. She was predeceased by her husband, William Russo on January 10, 1996. She retired from Poughkeepsie City Schools Poughkeepsie New York in 2002. Shelagh worked in the Food Service at Kreiger School. Shelagh was a member of CSEA. Shelagh was a local resident all her life. She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Poughkeepsie. Shelagh loved animals, loved to play Bingo and was an avid sports fan. She is survived by one daughter: Suzanne Baca of Highland, NY; son William Russo of Poughkeepsie, NY; granddaughters, Kira Joy and Leah Noelle Baca; son In-law, John Baca and her friend and neighbor Teresa Brennan. Shelagh was predeceased by her son, Brian A. Russo and sister, Rita Lockett. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 am on Friday, October 10, 2014 at St. Mary's Church, Church Street, Poughkeepsie, NY with officiating. Burial will be in St. Peters Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, October 9, 2014 from 4pm to 7pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY.
