Obituary of Felipe Benitez

Felipe A. Benitez, age 61, of Poughkeepsie, died Monday, October 19, 2015 at the Mid Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY. Felipe was born August 9, 1954 in the Bronx. He is the son of the late Arturo and the late Ana (Lozada) Benitez. He married Maria P. Estaba on March 5, 1991 in the Bronx. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Felipe was a graduate of Adelphi University with a Masters Degree. He was employed by Vassar Brothers Medical Center as a Patient Representative, he also previously was a Teacher for the City of Poughkeepsie School District, Arlington Schools District and Schools in the Bronx. Felipe was a local resident for the last 12 years, previously from the Bronx. He loved to read and enjoyed the Arts, but most of all he loved being with his family. He is survived by his wife: Maria P.(Estaba) Benitez of Poughkeepsie, NY , daughter: Isis P. Benitez of Poughkeepsie, NY and two sons: Felipe A. Benitez Jr. of Poughkeepsie, NY, Antonio L. Benitez of Poughkeepsie, NY; sister and brother In-law, Margarita and Ambale Villegas of Bronx, NY; step sister, Iris Alcaide of Bronx, NY and step sister, Renee Lozada of Bronx, NY. Felipe was also predeceased by his sister, Yvonne Benitez. Calling hours will be Thursday, October 22, 2015 from 4pm to 8pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. The funeral will be held 10:00 am on Friday, October 23, 2015 at Holy Trinity Church Poughkeepsie, NY. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
